The actions hotbar has been redesigned, with a more distinct split between your character’s natural actions - such as jumping and pushing - and their class skills such as spells. The tool tip cards for each also have new artwork and presentation.

It appears that every story beat, regardless of if they seem small or huge, has elements of choice and consequence. On the heavier side, the stream properly introduced us to Raphael the Cambion, a devil looking to take your soul in exchange for removing the Mindflayer tadpole from your head.

The protagonist then becomes involved in the fate of the Emerald Grove, where local druids and tiefling refugees face off against the goblin horde that worships a cult of the "Absolute". Once the party either sacks or saves the grove, they baldurs gate 3 travel through the mountains or the Underdark to reach Moonrise Towers, a cultist stronghold, in search of a new cure.

The party seeks to remove their parasites through numerous avenues, all of which fail to provide a cure. They are saved from the tadpoles' overwhelming psychic force by a "Dream Visitor" inside Shadowheart's mysterious prism, a device that is sought after by the githyanki.

As well as using spells, your Baldur's Gate 3 weapons come in handy for hand-to-hand combat. Some weapons are magical, some ordinary and others can only be acquired by completing a specific quest line. With so many out there to collect and choose from, check out the guide for an in-depth look.

I'm not much of a min-maxer, especially not in story-driven RPGs, but Baldur's Gate 3 makes experimenting with weird builds an absolute delight. For me it's not so much about making tiny changes to squeeze a bit more damage here or there, but rather playing around with items and spells to see what sort of mayhem I can cause.

The player doesn’t have to manually roll for the check, but because it succeeds Lae’zel then speaks dialogue explaining that the Torchstalk will explode if approached. A failed check would not reveal that information, and so players could accidentally blow themselves up.
